New to Collecting? Or to the Philly Non-Sports
Card Show?
We've developed a primer on non-sport card
collecting for those new to the hobby or the
show. This information come to us courtesy of
Non-Sport
Update magazine, an excellent bi-monthly
source of information on this fun hobby of ours.
Click on the link above to find out more about
the magazine and how you can get a subscription.
First
and foremost, collecting non-sport cards should
be done for fun. As you open up each new pack
of cards, it is exciting to see the new pictures.
You can trade the cards with your friends and
try to get every card you need to complete the
set. It is a great way to make new friends,
too.
The whole family can enter into
the fun by going to card shows, card shops,
flea markets and yard sales looking for the
last couple of cards to finish off the set.
Today's marketplace also is alive and well online
at many dealer web sites and online auction
sites. It is an interest that can be shared
by all.
Your card collection will serve
as a memory of really fun times. Many of your
favorite movies and TV shows are on cards. If
you collect today's sets, you will have something
to look back on in later years.
Having
a hobby is a wonderful experience. There are
many things that we have to do whether
we want to or not. A hobby is something we choose
to do and we do it because it is fun. It
is a good way to make new friends and to fill
many hours. You will want to keep learning everything
you can to make yourself a better collector.
